Some Enchanted Eventing

On Sunday, March 8, 2009, Creative Video was back at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall, this time to help celebrate the 77th birthday of Senator Ted Kennedy. The musical salute included performances by James Taylor, Denyce Graves, Kelli O’Hara and others. The event was hosted by Bill Cosby. Midway through the program, award winning musical composer and conductor John Williams led the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra in a tribute film to Senator Kennedy. Creative Video projected the six minute film onto a 10.5x14 screen using Eiki’s 12,000 ANSI XT4 projector. Technical Director Matthew Eidemiller used the Grass Valley Turbo Dual Channel IDDR to simultaneously play the tribute film that the audience viewed, as well as Maestro Williams’ streamer version, which featured cue points for timing of the orchestra. The night even included a visit by President Barrack Obama himself. The 75 minute program was attended by many high profile political figures including Caroline Kennedy, First Lady Michelle Obama, Senator John Kerry and many others. This was CVW’s third event with John Williams. The two teamed together last May for the Kennedy Center’s Annual Spring Gala, and again in July for the Marine Band concert. With the help of Creative Video’s experience and expertise, this definitely was Some Enchanted Evening.
