The National Coalition for Cancer Survivors celebrated its 25th annual “Rays of Hope” Gala on November 3 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in downtown Washington. The event recognized extraordinary accomplishments and contributions to the area of cancer survivorship by both individuals and organizations.

Creative Video, working alongside Dufour and Company Productions, was there to help emphasize the impact of the evening. CVW supplied both the audio and video elements to the evening, using a blend
of high impact visual elements and crisp audio production to captivate the audience throughout the evening.

Vice President of Production and event technical director Matthew Eidemiller used a Folsom ScreenPro II two camera switch to capture awards given to The Honorable Bob Dole, The Honorable Lois Capps, and The Honorable Charles W. Boustany, Jr., among others. Audio technican Andrew Logan used Electro Voice’s LiveX speaker system to amplify all of the audio throughout the auditorium. Also assisting on the show were camera operators Joe Brown and Aaron Thompson.

The event was a resounding success, and helped to create awareness of NCCS’s work on behalf of
cancer survivors. Attendees included cancer survivors, physicians and researchers as well as corporate representatives, philanthropists, congressional members and media.

Creative Video was awarded the Gold EMPixx Award in the Musical-National Cable Television Category for both the live production and post production editing of the VA – National Medical Musical Group’s third annual Veterans Day concert. The “Welcome Home Veterans” concert was held last November to honor US Veterans past and present. This is the second consecutive year Creative Video has been apart of the event.

“We are all very proud of this production,” Creative Video Vice President of Production Matthew Eidemiller explained. “I love working with the VA-Medical Musical Group. It is an amazing cause that they represent, and they put on a fantastic show. Truthfully, a group like this makes our job so much easier.”

The VA – National Medical Musical Group production required both skill and expertise on Creative Video’s part. Technical Director Matthew Eidemiller switched the show, using the camera work of Doug Drew (jib camera operator), Josh Monk (dolly camera operator), Sean Hovan and Corey Williams (long lens camera operators). Together, with video engineer Ashley Caudill, they captured the inspiring orchestra as they honored the veterans.

“The VA Medical Musical Group US Veteran’s Day Concert was an inspirational production. Creating a production like this, with such a large number of people and many different locations, is a difficult task at best. The creators of the video did an excellent job of planning and shooting the piece,” commented EMPixx judge David Carter.

Editor Ashley Caudill re-mastered the switched program recording, replacing camera shots that did not fit
with the message that the VA-Medical Musical Group was trying to convey. Once finished with the re-
mastered program, Caudill combined it with the multi-track audio recording to finish the award winning
piece.

“In addition, the editing and pacing was very well done,” Carter continued. “ And, of course, the music was
exceptionally good. This is a project that is exemplary of good film making while featuring people who are
working for a good cause.”

The Concert was broadcast on national cable television twice, appearing on CNBC on Memorial Day
afternoon, and the Fox Business Channel on July 3.

EMPixx is an organization sponsored by the American Pixel Academy. Entries are judged on a standard of
excellence and not as a comparison to its competitors. Each entry is scored on a 10-point scale and those
entries that score 7.0 to 8.9 qualify for the Gold EMPixx Award.

Celebrating 30 Years of Success

Creative Video is pleased to announce that we are celebrating our 30th anniversary.

Creative Video was founded by Kirby Whyte in the summer of 1981 as a full service video production and post production company. He focused on producing Association and Corporate meetings, as well as special events and visual presentations. Situated on the banks of the Potomac, the business grew quickly and soon became a well-respected full service producer in the area. Other producers began using the company to supplement their own productions.

Adding large screen projection, duplication and staging, the business continued to grow and expand. From the advent of the BETA format, to the current digital age, Creative Video has maintained a steadfast commitment to cutting edge technology and innovation.

The company has come a long way from its humble beginnings, now servicing hundreds of clients annually. Despite this large number of customers, Creative Video has continued to provide the personal touch often associated with smaller businesses.

We would like to thank all of our loyal customers for all that we have accomplished over the past 30 years.
