Pro Bono Video Garners Awards

When the Washington Baltimore Region of Easter Seals was putting the finishing touches on their new offices and the Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Intergenerational Center in Silver Spring, Maryland, Creative Video approached Lisa Reeves, the President and CEO with a proposition. We proposed to produce a Pro Bono promotional video on the Intergenerational Center and its innovative programs. After all, this was the first intergenerational center of its kind and with all the interest it was creating in the adult , child and disability services, it seemed like the prefect summer project. Creative Video’s Nicole Mora, took on producing and editing the project. The video was shot in 720P high definition using the company’s two Panasonic P2 camcorders; the HVX200 and HPX500. Cameramen Cameron Bartlett, Matt Eidemiller and Sean Hovan captured interviews with the center’s staff, Easter Seal officials, adult and youth volunteers and a noted University of Maryland professor and specialist in the Intergenerational concept. Since the center was not yet operating, elders from other Easter Seals adult day care centers in Washington were brought in as well as children from another Easter Seals children’s center. The almost empty center was suddenly filled with happy kids and seniors who loved the interaction and attention they provided each other. The project was edited in one of Creative Video’s Final Cut Pro HD, non linear edit suites and was delivered for use at the Gala and Grand Opening of the Center, which was attended by dignitaries from around the area. Creative video provided both Plasma screens and sound system for the Grand Opening and Gala. The video has garnered numerous awards including the Telly and Aegis. It is now on the Easter Seals Washington Baltimore Regions web site: Press the You Tube box towards the bottom of the page.
