Rock Stars of Science

In mid-September, the Rock Stars of Science, an organization which pairs scientists dedicated to finding cures for diseases and the Rock Stars that support them, held its Tribute to Congressional Champions of Research at the brand new Capitol Visitors Center. Aerosmith’s Joe Perry was scheduled to perform at the Visitors Center to help commemorate the event, but due to daytime noise restrictions at the venue, the group was forced to make other arrangements. So the night before the event, Creative Video was called upon to film the live rock performance by Perry. Technical Director Sean Hovan and Engineer Matthew Eidemiller used a two camera switch with the Panasonic MX70 to capture the three songs. The performance was edited later that night by Mike Danko and shown the next day at the Rock Stars of Science event. The two cameras were operated by Mike Burke and Corey Williams, with production assistants Shana Goldman and Ernesto Cobos there to help out. This is just one example of how the Creative Video team can work on tight deadlines, using creativity, to help make any event a success.
