PRICE GUIDE
Winter/Spring 2008
Prices and terms subject to change without notice.

Terms and Conditions:

Office hours of operation: Monday – Friday 9 am to 5 pm.  Billing for crew services begins at the time of departure from Creative Video and ends upon return.  Regular time is billed for up to 8 consecutive hours worked between 7:00am and 11:00pm.  Overtime is charged for work before 7 am and after 11 pm or after 8 consecutive hours or on the weekends. 

Invoices are due and payable upon receipt until credit is established.  Credit terms: 15 days from the date of invoice.  Failure to pay within 30 days accrues an interest penalty of 1.5% per month from the date of the original invoice, 18% per annum.  A 50% deposit is required on work over $2,000 estimated billing.

Full production services are billed in 1/3rd increments.  First third upon acceptance of the proposal, second third at the middle of the production and the final third within 30 days of the final invoice.  Shooting and labor are billed on a half day 4 hour minimum or full 8 hour day, portal-to-portal Arlington, VA.  All travel is billed at labor, per diem and expenses only.  Set up days, if other than rehearsal or show days, are billed at 1/2 the equipment rate plus labor, etc.  All crew travel is based on an 8 hour minimum.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation on video production work after acceptance of our proposal and before work commences constitutes forfeiture of the deposit or 1/3 of the estimated total budget.  Cancellation after taping has commenced but not before editing has begun constitutes a forfeiture of the second one-third deposit.  Cancellation after editing has begun constitutes payment in full for the proposal budget plus any extras agreed upon during production. 

Cancellation of crews, equipment, editing, and projection more than 48 hours before the date/time/event, no charge.  Cancellation 24 to 48 hours of specified crew call time 1/2 minimum crew, equipment or booked edit time.  Cancellation within 24 hours of the event constitutes payment in full.  Minimum ENG/EFP crew call is 4-hours, equipment is 1/2 billing rate and minimum edit time is 1-hour at posted rate.  Crew calls for multi-camera switches and most show productions are based on day rate.

Duplication Policy:
Creative Video guarantees that all copies it produces for its clients are free of defects.  Each tape has been checked three times during re-wind for video and audio quality.  Creative Video agrees to re duplicate any tape found to be defective during its first playback at no charge to the client.  Creative Video further guarantees that all duplication stock it uses is new, high grade duplication quality.  All cases unless otherwise noted are 1/3rd sleeve, plastic book style with laser printed labels inside and out. 
 
Travel, Per Diem & Expenses Policy:
Travel rates are based on the individual requirements of each project.  Creative Video will bill for crew travel time only, based on departure from Rosslyn Virginia to final destination and vice versa.  Airline or Train tickets purchased by Creative Video and not provided by the client will be charged a 20% service charge in addition to the cost of the tickets.  Per diem is issued for travel and field production based upon the destination and the number of days involved.  All travel related expenses including tips, tolls, freight handling charges, parking, phone calls, etc. are covered under the budget item: Expenses.  Equipment that is rented for a production is billed at cost plus the 20 % service charge unless noted in the budget.

Editing Policy:
All editing is based on a one hour minimum, with half hour increments there after, on-line or off-line.  All edit master tapes are "Blacked" in advance and are $5 dollars more expensive than regular blank tape.  Use of the Network, Manchester, Music Bakery, Turner & Impact Music Libraries, Network Sound Effects Library, The Washington Broadcast Video Library or the Digital Animation, Digital Juice Animated Backgrounds library, Eyewire, and Artbeats stock footage library all constitute additional billing unless otherwise noted.  Use of the narration booth, stat camera or insert stage are also in addition to the posted edit rate unless otherwise noted.                                                          

Cost Estimates

Estimates given prior to performing services are not quotes but only estimates based on fees from outside services, materials and time required to complete job at the time the estimate is given. Final costs may change due to changes in job requirements. Fees charged by outside services may change at any time. Rates may also change if there is substantial time between estimate and job acceptance.

Quality Control

CVW can not be held responsible for errors, flaws and costs of materials and services provided from outside CVW. Within reason, CVW will take necessary steps to correct any and all errors. In the event corrections can not be made CVW will make other adjustments. CVW does not accept responsibility for the content of all written and/or recorded material within a client's final product(s). Receipt and/or use of final or intermediate work is indication of acceptance and client is responsible for all charges associated with said work. Client is responsible for all costs associated with partial and/or incomplete jobs.

Liability Limitation

Creative Video liability is limited to fees charged by CVW. We are not responsible for any losses or other expenses incurred by the client due to negligence, delays, or failure of performance for incomplete or extended work regardless of fault. Client is responsible for any expenses from a third party. CVW is not responsible for the disposition of any materials once surrendered to client. Our liability is limited to fees charged by CVW and we are not responsible for any expense incurred by the client for loss of said materials regardless of fault.

Disclosures

Client is required to fully disclose to CVW and its subcontractors the complete nature and method of the production at the time of inquiry. Disclosure must include, but not limited to: who is paying for the production (all primary contractors and subcontractors), the production's intent and ultimate usage, and method of production. CVW and its subcontractors reserve the right to refuse work for any reason. If client fails to fully disclose the required information before the production, and if  CVW and/or its subcontractors object to the nature of the production based on misleading information, CVW and its subcontractors can immediately cancel their participation before and during the production and the client is still liable for full payment.

Professional Responsibility

Client is responsible for providing a safe, healthy, and professional working environment. Client cannot compel CVW or its subcontractors to perform any act that is illegal, unethical, or unsafe. CVW and its subcontractors can immediately cancel their participation before and during the production, and the client is still liable for full payment, if client insists that CVW or its subcontractors perform any illegal, unethical, or unsafe acts.

Copyright

The client, under the work-for-hire rule, retains copyright to all material gathered on their behalf. This applies only to material directly related to their planned project. For speculative projects CVW retains the full copyright to all completed work unless otherwise noted.

Location:
Our offices are located just off the Dulles Toll Road, Rt-267 in Tysons Corner. From DC, Arlington or Alexandria, take I-66 west to the Dulles Toll road. Make sure you are going on the toll road and not the Dulles only lanes. Pass under the beltway I-495 and take the first exit before the toll plaza. Toll: .25 cents. Turn left at the light onto Spring Hill Road. Proceed under the toll road and turn right at the next light. Take the first possible right into Tysons Dulles Plaza. Pass between the buildings and bare left. 1410 is now in front of you. Park in front if space is available or proceed around the back of the building and enter via the back doors. Suite 100 is off the atrium lobby. From MD, take I-495 to the Dulles Toll Road and follow the above directions. From Dulles/Reston take the Dulles Toll Road to the Spring Hill exit just before the main toll plaza and follow directions above. Our building is on of three with the name "KEANE" on the top. It overlooks the main toll plaza.
